PresidentVincent Raj joined Rotary in 2002 and has officiated in various roles such as Co-Chair and Chairman of Rotaract Committee, Fellowship committee, Vocational Service and Community Service. Donning the cap of Director of Youth Service and another time, as Director of Vocational Service, he led the club in winning. The Best Club Award in its category on both occasions. The year 2016-17, saw him as Club Secretary and in the year 2018-19 as Vice President.
What he likes most in Rotary is organising Blood Donation Camp as often as possible and seeing youngsters donate blood copiously. He firmly believes, Rotary to be a perfect channel to give back to the society that has given him so much and made him what he is today.
Vincent P Raj, Son of an Army Officer, was born and brought up in Bangalore Cantonment did his schooling at St. Aloysius, graduation at Govt. Science College and a PG diploma at St. Joseph`s College of Commerce. He was also the Secretary of the Trade body Karnataka Hatcherymen’s Association for a number of years.
As an athlete and a sports enthusiast, he represented his school and college. Apart from this, he was also active in youth and charity activities at his Parish. Now, he has channelled this interest into cycling, which sees him as a Founder member of IFCR Dist 3190 (International Fellowship of Cycling Rotarians) and also as its President for the year 2017-18, 2018-19 as Vice President and 2019-20 as its President Elect.
Starting his career in a poultry organisation in 1975, he went on to set up his own enterprise in 1986 and made a name for himself as a poultry breeder of repute. In 2005 he moved from this industry to Hospitality, establishing a string of pubs and restaurants. Currently, he plays a mentor role to these establishments which is now managed by his son. Apart from that, he is also into breeding ostriches, the first of its kind in India.
He is married to Ann Vasundara Raj, a past President of IW. Their daughter, Vineesha, is a teacher at an International School in Singapore and is married to Deva, a Chemical Engineer and a budding Music Director. They have a daughter named Veda and a son named Vyas. Their son, Vinith is an entrepreneur, married to Roshni a senior editor at Routers and they have a son, Vivaan and daughter Shennaya, thus completing the three generations in his family.
