UNLABEL mesmerizes Rotarians with music & dance

UNLABEL was a music & dance event with a difference, featuring talented youngsters with Autism & special needs. Presented by Mitra for Life & the Rotary Club of Bangalore, Youth Services Committee. The event was on zoom meet, streamed to FB live and YouTube live on 17th Oct, Saturday at 6 pm.

The aim of the event was to allow the youngsters to be known just as artists & not labelled with a disability with a disability and to provide a stage for equal opportunity.

The performers were:


Pravalika, a youngster with Down Syndrome, who performed a Bharathnatyam piece & a slow Mohaniattam piece to “Pibare Ramarasam”.

Devesh, 17 yrs old with Autism, performed an amazing classical based tabla piece.


Siddhartha Majumdar sang Kishore kumar Hits, talking everyone into a nostalgic mode. He floored everyone with his confidence and ease of singing.


21 year old Adithya Venkatesh was mesmerizing on the Keyboard, with his Carnatic based renditions.

The program was hosted by celebrity host Vinayaka Joshi, and the conversation was centered around creating awareness on Autism and special needs. The youngsters had a lively interaction with Vinayak, and he drew them into conversations about their music, hobbies, and families.

The performance was interspersed with short videos by celebrities who encouraged the young talents. Badri Prasad, Raghu Dixit, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Karhik Iyer & Giridhar Udupa, all had wonderful things to say about the performers.

With an encouraging number of the audience attending the event online on all three platforms, the event has received amazing feedback. Also, the special needs community has expressed the benefits of such a program. We are delighted that it had a positive impact and are considering more such associations and programs with Mitra for Life, as it exemplifies the true spirit of Rotary.
