RotoQuiz at Mangalore 8th September 2019
Four years back RCB collaborated with the Rotary Club of Mangalore to extend the popular Rotoquiz to the port city.Since then the event has grown from strength to strength.This year Rotoquiz Mangalore held on Sunday, September 8 had record entries, thanks to the sterling efforts of the Rotarians and Rotaractors of RCM.
Rotary Club of Bangalore was well represented at the show led by President Elizabeth Cherian Paramesh,Secretary Vineetha Chinappa,and YSD Shailesh Shah.They were supported by Rtns Meena Shankar,Gowri Oza,R. Raghunathan,Mangu Gautam and Jayanth Rudra.The young brigade of our Rotaractors were there in good strength to help out with the quiz.
On D-day,teams started arriving pretty early in the morning and very soon additional copies of the preliminary round questions were required.After the inaugural ceremony it was down to serious business.The participants were spread over several class-rooms and on the dot at 10.05 am the quiz kicked off.The competition for making it to the Mangalore Finals was intense and we had to resort to Tie-breaker questions to select the four teams.
The Final round was quite exciting with even the audience showing a lot of enthusiasm.Initially,it was a see-saw battle till NIT-K emerged easy winners,followed by the Young Turks of Mahesh PU College.These two teams will be coming to Bangalore to on September 16 to participate in the Finals.
The Rotarians of RCM went out of their way with their hospitality and also hosted a Dinner and Lunch for our team.
It was with a feeling of satisfaction that we made our journey back to Bangalore.
